Ahhhh....summer!

hi guys!! It's (almost) officially summer!!! Yay!! So, what have we done so far. You know that we went to the zoo. Then, we had Olivia's birthday party! It was a hit! We had many people, children running around, and all in all, a great time! However, I forgot to assign someone as the photographer, and therefore, only took one picture. Note the flushed cheeks, snotty look, and dirty white skirt. This is just before we opened presents - she was done for the day at this point.Next, we had pre-school graduation. Olivia officially graduated pre-school!! Now, it's onward and upward to Kindergarten. Olivia was very determined to get out of line and come say Hi to us.Once the teacher corralled her back into line.Sitting like a lady awaiting the festivities. This is the video of Olivia being awarded her "diploma." She received the "Most Likely to be on Dancing with the Stars" award.

Next, we went to the White Sox game on 6-9-09. We met Uncle DD there. We watched the game against the Tigers. White Sox lost in the 10th - 7 to 6. :-(

Then, on Friday, Olivia's pre-school summer camp had a "crazy hair" day. So...we took some time in the morning and did this.....
And, finally, here are some pictures of Mia. She likes to wear White Sox gear too.

Let's go to the Zoo!...

Seems like an easy enough endeavor, until of course, you throw in the drive times, a baby that is not eating table food and has to eat on schedule and the lovely Chicago weather! This past weekend we had a blast! We helped Lisa move into her new apartment (which I LOVE!). We also pulled out the sprinkler for water fun, went shopping for party favors for Olivia's party and went to the zoo. For you Chicagoans, we went to Lincoln Park Zoo. Below are pics from this weekend. Stay tuned - Olivia's birthday is 5-29 and the party is 5-30. I'm sure we will have a monster blog next week!
Wanna see Mia's first swimsuit? Check it out! She and Tony Coordinated!

Olivia pointed out to me that they carry their babies in pouches. I did not know that! :-) Just kidding!Olivia checking out the deer.A White Lipped Deer. So....why do we have deer in the zoo? Is this area not their natural habitat?Mia outside the Ape House.Olivia inside the Ape House. This gorilla was just chillin' pickin' it's nose with it's pinky and eating it. I made Olivia watch to prove to her how gross it is to pick your nose. I don't think she believes me.Olivia and our Zebra friends.Mia fell asleep......and then found her thumb.Olivia posing by the fish in the Hippo Tank at the RainForest House.Mia and Derrick.Mia acquanting herself with Derrick.So...after we left this place, we found that it was raining. We had to traverse the entire zoo to get back to our car. We stopped to see the polar bears, but apparently, they did not like the rain and would not come out. Needless to say, this ended in us being soaked in the car, driving home. We hope that you all had as fun a Memorial Day weekend as we did!

Our weekend...

So...I'm not getting lazy on you or anything, but have been busy with work, convincing Tony that we need a cleaning service, planning Olivia's birthday party, and learning how to get Tony to paint the house. I got tired of the procrastination and took Olivia to Menard's on Friday night. We picked out the color and border that we are using to decorate her play room. I then taped up the borders of the room, and Tony finally decided to caulk the windows as he has been talking about doing. Then I started painting. Tony was not happy with my painting abilities and came in to help me. This was while the girls were napping. When Mia woke up, I went to get her and take care of her. After I fed her, Tony was done with the first coat of paint. The playroom looks beautiful, but it's not done yet. I promise there will be before and after pictures for all to peruse. I was even complimented on my taping abilities! Yay me! Then, since I wanted to show my appreciation, I mowed the lawn for Tony. Yikes! It had been two rainy wet weeks and the grass looked like a field, blowing in the wind. The grass was wet, and I had to empty that stupid grass bag about 15 times - no exaggeration! It took two hours to mow the entire lawn! What a chore! Anywho, that pretty much sums up our weekend, other than the dresser shopping that we are in the midst of. Olivia has 4 cabinets from Ikea that she uses as a dresser right now. We are moving those to the playroom and we are looking for a dresser for her. See Jory, you're missing out on the fun! Ok....time for pictures....have a great week everyone!

Here I am - mowing the lawn. See? I have proof!
Olivia - posing for the camera as usual! She looked very cute in the jeans that she has learned to close all by herself!Sportin' my new haircut, color, and style.Mia - her new favorite pastime - chewing on her spoon. We went to a restaurant for lunch today and this was Mia's face.
