I am a super lucky lady. I have a job that I really like, and I get to work from home 2 days a week. We started out having Mia stay with me both days, but that got to be a bit much. We've settled into a routine that one day a week, Mia stays home with me. This is what those days are like.
You may think that those days look like this:
This is how my day starts. But at any random moment during the day, this happens:
| Mia brought her toys so that she could play next to me. |
Then, she leaves to watch Team Umizumi, and the toys are left on the desk next to me. Sooner or later she shows up like this:
"Mommy - watch a moovie?"
Well, no. You can't watch Legally Blonde 2. First of all - it's not a good movie. Secondly, I don't know why we have it. And third, it's really not for kids - although, because of point one, she might like it better. Oh well - maybe next time. Maybe she can relate with the whole blonde thing? Or maybe she's just excited that it comes in pink packaging. I'm going with the blonde thing - it kinda explains it either way.
Next, it's "Come see the train!!" So, we go to look out our front windows and across yards to see the freight train pass by. This is SUPER exciting because I try to read all the graffiti, but usually get bored in a couple of seconds and head back to work.
Next this shows up:
Sissy's shoes and sissy's hat. Did I mention that if she sees a Squinkies commercial, she immediately heads upstairs to try to find Sissy's Squinkies? Mostly, because I don't care if she plays with them, but Sister refuses to share and has taken to hiding them when she is not home.
Today, we added to the adventure. I hear a noise that sounds suspiciously like the deadbolt being turned on the door. "Mia? Whatcha doin'?"
"Nuthin' Mama."
Click, clack.
I get up to find my 3 year old at the door, the cat waiting patiently at her heels to run outside as soon as the door is open.
We did not go outside. It's cold, and I had to work.
So, then, I hear a crash from the bathroom. "MIA! What are you doing?!"
So, then, I hear a crash from the bathroom. "MIA! What are you doing?!"
"Nuthin' Mama."
I go to the bathroom to find her trying to wash her hands - no water and the soap container is in the sink. Why is she trying to wash her hands? Oh, because she got into mommy's night cream that we have been using on Mia to quickly heal her dry skin.
Thankfully, she takes a nap at 1.
That's when the adventure continued today. After she got up, we went to pick up sissy from day care and then proceed to the grocery story for our mid week pick up.
"Mommy - the car is thirsty." "Ok, we'll get it filled up later." How did she know I needed gas?
Once we get to the store, sister entertains while I shop.
Look what I found:
| Pre-pasted. Gross. |
As we were leaving, Mia put on her coat.
She got the arms right, but apparently hasn't figured out that her ass doesn't go in the hood.
This was one of the more entertaining days of my week. I truly am lucky to get these kinds of interruptions and adventures on a random Wednesday!
She's such a little cutie! What great interruptions for your day. Though I'm guessing you could use a nap too. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd you may think I'm crazy, but I would buy those toothbrushes and stuff them in my glove compartment, just for emergencies.
I used to work from home too. It's hard with little ones! But she is so cute, that kind of makes up for it, right?
ReplyDeleteSandy
She's too cute!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I agree, Legally Blond 2 was awful :/
