I've been going through some mental and physical cleansing in my life lately. You may call it the stomach flu, followed by a nasty cold, with children and husband sharing the same illnesses, but I choose to use it as some seriously past due down time. You know, sometimes, your body just tells you that you need to take some time off. So, it takes a nasty fever, or riotous bodily emissions, so what?
Ok. Enough of that. Can you guess that I have been a bit sick? And so has my family. Lysol didn't help. That stuff came back at Olivia for a second go round. It's funny, but, do you get mad at your kids when they get sick? Not like that - I mean, when they vomit in their bed (for instance) and then just stare at it - like it's going to clean itself up. And then wake you up, because it's 12:30 in the morning, and you have been asleep for at least two hours because you have to go to work in the morning. And the child is just staring at said vomit. And this is the second time in two weeks (for instance). Do you find yourself yelling at this child? Something along the lines that you weren't put here on earth to clean up kid puke in the middle of the night just because they weren't sure if they were going to throw up, so they didn't make it to the bathroom? No? Me either.

We have hit March here, and I am super happy. Spring is on the way! Which means that summer is COMING!!!!
I love summer. Long, hot, sweaty days. Sunburn, and sunscreen. Pools and sprinklers. Bugs and beers. Grilling and chilling. Bonfires and open windows. Good God, I just can't wait!!!! Yes, there is still snow in Chicago. Yes, it's still under 40 degrees. But the sun is shining (some days), and the time change shows me daylight at 7 at night. And I saw a crazy woman wearing flip flops in a snowstorm yesterday. Seriously. So warmer weather MUST be on the way, right? The correct answer is Yes, or my cabin-fever-cooped-up-with-crazy-children-all-frickin'-winter psyche might just jump through the computer screen and shake you until you agree.
There's not really anything new going on here. But, because I have a TON of them, here are some fun pictures from the past few weeks, when we have been feeling randomly good.
I call this "Fun with Menus" from Mommy-Daughters Date Night
From my first real meal after not eating for about 3 days. I would have to agree with my fortune, even if most of the people I know may not agree - at least with the delightful part.
Our front yard a week ago. It's almost all melted now. The snowman has disappeared.
We made it to the ER. Olivia had the back of her earring inside the earring hole. I caught her laughing at the TV while waiting on the doctor.
Trying on our dance costume.
No words are needed. The shirt does not lie.
I love hearing about your crazy (I mean lovely life), always makes me laugh. The kids are growing up way to fast.
ReplyDeleteI agree! And am glad that I can make you laugh at this crazy life! :)
