What I learned - on vacation with Mia....

Vacation is a time to cut ties with your routine, use some change, and get to know your family all over again.

I noticed some things about Mia lately, and these are what I have learned over the past two weeks with my little blondster (blond monster):

1. She has started to feel less familiar to me.  I believe this is because she is getting older, growing into her own personality and is really no longer my baby.  She will always be my baby, but she's no longer just mine.

2. Mia is still a mommas girl.  She routinely tells daddy that she doesn't like him simply because she would rather be with momma.  She doesn't do this to hurt his feelings, she is still learning about that concept.

3. Mia is her own person.  She is feisty, determined, sneaky, and sassy.  She has been called a pill, a pistol, a firecracker and a punk (by me).

4. Mia adores her older sister.  She wants to be by sissy, she wants to do the same things as sissy, she wants to be with her older sister as that gives her the greatest joy in life.

5. Mia likes to test her limits and ask questions.  She has recently learned that she can't say everything she hears (such as "Aw cwap!") and that some things are for adults only.  She has been heard telling her sister to shut up, saying shoot, duh-uh, really? and who cares?.  She has decided it's better to ask if she can say things rather than get tattled on by her sister.

6. Mia loves to be with her sister but hates to be bossed around by her sister.  She will yell, bite, hit and whatnot just because she doesn't want to be bossed, but wants to be her sister's friend.

7. Mia loves to be told she's pretty.  She wants to dress up, and she wants to feel pretty.  The smile on her face is so gorgeous - she literally beams.

8. She loves to milk things.  She tells me constantly that she is a big girl, until she wants to be held, then she's just a little girl.

I love this kid more with each day that passes and am so happy to get a few weeks to be together to learn how she changes every day.
